Tuppence Halfpenny entertainment was started by Penny Tall in July 2017. Penny has a wealth of experience within the music and dance industry which has stretched across 35 years.
Penny started Ballroom and Latin-American dancing at the age of 8 and went on to compete as an amateur through juvenile and junior age groups. Penny went on to turn this passion into a career when she qualified as a dance teacher in 3 branches to associate level (Ballroom, Latin American and freestyle disco) and her membership in Ballroom. She taught all ages and levels of dancers from 3 years to 89 years, beginners, social dancers and competitors and specialised in children’s classes.
After becoming a mother herself Penny sought ways of entertaining groups for play dates and parties and was disappointed that many of the entertainers she had seen at other parties had steered away from the traditional entertainment in favour of slapstick humour. Also when attending parties there were more than 1 entertainer that had been booked separately for their skills (character entertainer, balloon modeller and facepainter) Which took the expense of parties outside the realms of reality for most parents. This led to the birth of Halfpenny who combines traditional children’s entertainment such as balloon modelling, face painting, dance and games with vibrant characters.
Penny (Tuppence) has an extensive repertoire of stage performance appearing in her 1st vocal duo act 20 years ago. Penny has been in several duos and most recently was the lead singer in a successful function band for 8 years. Her vocal talents are varied and very adaptable with a song catalogue of over 300 songs covering all genres and periods from 50s to modern day. Penny is well known for bringing full energy to her stage performances and entertainment value to the max. Regardless of what guise Penny appears (Tuppence/Gypsie/Harley/Halfpenny) you can look forward to an enjoyable night of musical entertainment, with flamboyance, colourful outfits/costumes and flare.
